Known by many names, including Mandarin collared jackets and Nehru jackets, the stand collar jacket has a rich history dating back centuries. Traditionally, it has been worn as part of traditional clothing, especially in East Asia, where it is believed to have originated. The Western fashion scene soon caught on to this style, and during the middle of the 20th century, it became very popular in the Western world.
